Year 12 cover work: Representation

The film that has started discussion on self-perception and female representation is 'The Perfect 14.' It points of interest the exchange in the matter of how ladies are shown in media singularly for the spectator ship of male viewers.

Laura Mulvey's hypothesis of the female look varies from the male look, as the male look depicts how men are depicted in the media as externalized for the spectator ship of ladies which is a significant option perspective to the more women's activist one with Mulvey's hypothesis.

As I would like to think, the representation of ladies in promoting can be thought to be entirely deceptive to other ladies, as well as more youthful young ladies who'll unavoidably grow up to trust that what they see is what they're required to seek to be. The media however doesn't as of now highlight ladies as size 14 in light of the fact that they're basically possessed in satisfying the fulfillment of male viewers, sticking to the entire idea that 'sex offers.'

Representations and the media - exhibits how the way in which something is addressed can change the way we see it with things, for instance, pictures and engravings for used to run with them. With this said photographic craftsmen, news and picture editors can be suggested as "guardians."

As I would like to think I'd say I'm exceptionally very much aware of how precisely I speak to myself in the media. I realize that touchy and/or private data shouldn't be shared to an open group of onlookers or anybody so far as that is concerned and all in all, that not all that matters ought to be posted online - advanced foot shaped impression.

The general population that by and large have the greater part of the force in the media are moderately aged white men and in addition Jewish individuals. A champion case of this is Rupert Murdoch, who possesses one of the biggest media aggregates on the planet. With this, these individuals or all the more particularly the demographic in force don't have a tendency to get negative representations showed in the media. For instance generalizations of ethnic minority gatherings like dark individuals tend to significantly more predominant and simpler to consider than that of white individuals. This shows how having force in media can influence representations individuals come to know.

representation

Find a YouTube clip from film or TV and complete the same activity we have just done in class:

White women and White men the representation is dominant as it potrays the the white female protagonist, Black Widow as being the predominent figure in distress as well as potraying Iron Man and Thor as being God like figures. On the other hand, it potrayed Black Widow in an alternative representation as she is an assassin.

3) What stereotypes can you identify in the trailer?

In this scene lady have been spoken to just like the casualties or the maiden in trouble this is clear in the way the mass needed to spare Black Widow. Be that as it may, the predominant generalization of lady have been tested as one of the fundamental heroes is a professional killer with the ability to slaughter a squad of men. This is powerful as it shows how society has evoloved and how lady and men have approach status. Notwithstanding this with Hulk Black widow is seen as a sexual figure or a figure for men to look at.

dependency theory

Dependency Theory

I think especially in this generation we are exceedingly reliant on the media. I primarily use the media to gain information regarding sports, and i also use the media for entertainment purposes as I have a sky box and I watch different programmes which range from all sorts of genres. I feel we are mainly dependent on the media because of the hype around different products and software and the feeling in which 'if everyone is using social media and information technology on a regular basis, I must also do the same' and this benefits the technological companies as more civilians buy their products, even if they produce a product in which is not particularly perceived as a great product by the public, there sales for the product still remains quite high because of the demand of information technology. From my assessment this has a negative effect on newspaper companies, as in our generation people tend read the latest news through tablets, televisions and other high tech products. Therefore newspaper companies now find it hard to generate the right sales because people now expect to read and generate news for free. My opinion on the article is very plain and simple, in our generation we are so dependent on the internet that to an extent without it we feel like a lost child in a kids park.

blog feedback learner response

OBETTO, Lele
WWW: There is some promise in the work you have posted – your RBK 50 Cent analysis contains a couple of good points and your media consumption audit shows you engage with different media platforms.
EBI: However, overall your blog is extremely concerning – mainly due to the sheer amount of missing or incomplete work. You are missing an additional advert analysis of your choice, the institution work is incomplete and you do not highlight or use much media terminology. Your media consumption audit suggest you don’t particularly engage in the media and this will make the highest grades almost impossible to access. Overall, your blog suggests a lack of organisation which is a major worry in Media – the coursework is crucial and this blog suggests you will struggle to manage the workload.

LR: Firstly, complete all the missing work – by Monday. Next, reflect on your first month of AS Media. What is your strongest piece of work so far? What is your weakest? What specific skills or knowledge do you need to develop over the rest of the course?

i would say the first month of media has gone the most efficiently and i have lacked organisation when attempting to complete pieces of homework to a sustainable level. i would say the institution task where we needed to complete and construct a presentation was my strongest task. my weakest piece of work was the introduction to media, and i think i need to develop dyers lines of appeal as this could be a key element when preparing for the exam part of media.

institution feedback-

WWWs-
  1. instead of delivering a ordinary, standard expression in our presentation, we were able to bring about enthusiasm through engaging with the class.
  2. We ensured that as we were speaking we weren't simply reading off of the board but instead, we were actually addressing the class in a formal manner.
  3. We were able to provide a relatively good and unique starter as we chose to do a starter involving a word search which really engaged with the class.
EBIs-

  1. We made it clear what exactly the purpose of the word search was and subsequently we could have shortened the length of speech.
  2. we were unable to provide a hand-out to our dismay thanks to our missing third group member.
  3. if we provided a starter we could have given the audience a better idea about our institution trinity mirror.

the use of black illustrates the road to success is always beautiful and he may be suggesting hard work isn't easy. In contrast the the use of the black background and the lighting which makes his face stand out suggests he aims to stand out in his line of business as a rapper, which connotes why he has been so successful. The words "where I am from" could suggest he has come a long way through the struggles of his upbringing and his success is due to perseverance and hard work. The use of the 'fingerprint' background could interpret everybody has there own identity and do not rely on others for there own success.Which could symbolize why every individual has their own fingerprint. The words "tomorrow is not promised" may connote your future isn't written and you must work hard to better your future. From his facial expressions he has a very stern, mean look like he is ready for business and from a viewers point of view the connotation would be criminality, violence but that would be deemed as the actual denotation.
